The 2026 NFL Draft is almost here. The Green Bay Packers don’t pick until round two and currently hold the 52nd overall selection. This is the first in a series of articles looking at players the Packers may be interested in selecting in the early rounds of this year’s draft. The only players listed here are realistic possibilities for the Packers GM Brian Gutekunst to pick on day two of the draft or who fill specific needs for the team right now. Today we will examine cornerbacks. Here are five cornerbacks the Packers could select on day two of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Five Cornerbacks the Packers Could Select on Day Two: The State of the Packers Cornerbacks Entering the 2026 NFL Draft
The Packers have a substantial need at cornerback both in the short term and the long term. The team lacks an elite cover corner and needs to upgrade this area. The top cornerback on the roster right now by default is Keisean Nixon although he’s better suited to be a CB2. Carrington Valentine and Benjamin St-Juste will battle for the other start spot on the boundary. Javon Bullard returns and gives the team a strong presence in the slot.
As of now, St-Juste stands as the only player under contract beyond the 2026 season. That means the Packers not only lack a legit top cover corner for 2026, but they need someone who can step in and start in 2027. The team will also need more depth on day three of the draft.
So here is a list of possible cornerbacks the Packers may take early in the 2026 draft. They are not listed in any particular order. These are not the best available players but are players the Packers could take with one of their day two picks in the draft or if they trade up slightly to grab a particular player, they have their eye on.
Cornerbacks the Packers Could Select on Day Two of the 2026 NFL Draft, Number One: Davison Igbinosun, Ohio State
Davison Igbinosun has good size at 6’2” and 195 pounds. He plays well in press coverage and has an intensity that the Packers would value. In college, he played against top competition and more than held his own. Igbinosun will need to cut down on the penalties in the NFL if he hopes to succeed in the pros. His tackling against the run was inconsistent and needs to improve.
Igbinosun has long arms and fluid hips. He ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the combine. He’s 22 and stayed healthy in college so injury history is not a concern. The former Buckeyes star intercepted four passes in his collegiate career, two each in 2024 and 2025. Most scouts view him as a solid day two pick.
Number Two: Brandon Cisse, South Carolina
Brandon Cisse meets the Packers size and athletic standards at 5’11” and 190 pounds. He ran a 4.41 at his pro day and is not afraid to be physical off the snap of the ball. He is a willing tackler which is something the Packers need at the position.
Cisse remains a bit raw in technique. He plays man coverage well but struggles more in zone coverage which new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon tends to emphasize. He will need some time to improve in this area.
The tools are there. Cisse may not be ready to play a huge role as a rookie, but if he is coached up well, could develop into a bigger contributor by year two.
Cornerbacks the Packers Could Select on Day Two of the 2026 NFL Draft, Number Three: Daylen Everette, Georgia
Daylen Everette stands 6’1” and 190 pounds. He has great size and athleticism for his position and ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at the combine. We know the Packers tend to like their Georgia players especially on defense.
Everette improved his run defense last season and provided the Bulldogs leadership in their locker room. He also knows how to play physically without drawing penalties. Coaches love his dedication and approach, and he’s managed to stay healthy in college.
Everette also plays better in man coverage than in zone although he has the physical tools to play well in zone. He is viewed by most scouts as a third-round pick who can provide depth as a rookie and compete for a larger role in year two.
Number Four: Chris Johnson, San Diego State
Chris Johnson stands 6’ tall and weighs 195 pounds. The 21-year-old is fast, smart, and can play in both man and zone coverage. He has a high football IQ and polished technique for a player coming out of a smaller program. He ran a 4.4 40-yard dash at the combine.
Johnson would be more ready to contribute immediately than many of the other players on this list. He played more on the boundary but may be able to contribute in the slot as well if needed. He still needs to work on closing on the ball if he’s going to add to his interception totals.
Johnson provided leadership at San Diego State. He will need some tweaking to his game but comes ready to contribute on defense and on special teams.
The Packers may have to trade up a bit to select Johnson who will likely go in the early to mid-second round.
Cornerbacks the Packers Could Select On Day Two of the 2026 NFL Draft, Number Five: Malik Muhammad, Texas
Malik Muhammad has quick twitch and is fluid in his backpedal. At 6’ and 188 pounds, he may need to put on a little more weight for the Packers. He ran a 4.42 in the 40-yard dash at the combine.
Muhammad doesn’t take many penalties. He was only called for two in 2025, one pass interference and one defensive holding call.
He is a willing tackler but there are some concerns about his lack of thickness which could impact his tackling at the pro level and his ability to stay healthy.
Muhammad has good ball skills but can be overpowered by larger, physical receivers. He’s versatile and quick and smart and should have an impact at the pro level after a year or two of seasoning.
