The Green Bay Packers meet this week for OTAs as their offseason program continues. While the season is still more than three months off, there are important things happening in the coming weeks as the team prepares for training camp. Here are five things to focus on at Packers OTAs this week as the team beings preparations for the 2026 season and what they mean for the team’s future:

Five Things to Focus On at Packers OTAs for 2026, Number Five: Which UDFAs Will Stand Out?

This year, the Packers had only six draft picks but signed nearly twice that many undrafted free agents. GM Brian Gutekunst used the UDFAs to supplement the draft class and address areas of needs on the roster.

Among the more interesting undrafted free agents to watch are cornerback Marlon Jones, Jr., who overcame cancer earlier in his career to get a chance at the NFL, and undrafted quarterback, Kyron Drones.

Undrafted wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant and running back Jaden Nixon are also intriguing and have an opportunity to make the practice squad or even the initial roster at their respective positions.

Guards Josh Gesky and Dillon Wade also have a chance to make a big first impression based on the lack of depth at the position.

Number Four: What Will the Cornerback Situation Look Like?

The Packers lack a top cover corner, but they also don’t know who will be starting at this important position and how the depth chart will play out.

We’ll get a first look at free agent acquisition Benjamin St-Juste and at two draft picks at the position as well in Brandon Cisse and Domani Jackson.

Carrington Valentine may be playing for a roster spot as his job security appears to be up in the air this offseason.

This is a position to keep an eye on at OTAs.

Five Things to Focus On at Packers OTAs for 2026, Number Three: Edge Rusher

With Micah Parsons likely to miss the first few games of the season, the Packers need to find a starter opposite former first-round pick, Lukas Van Ness. They also need to see if Van Ness is ready to start for the first time in his career.

How will second-year players Barryn Sorrell and Collin Oliver look this year? Will Brenton Cox stay healthy and make an impression? There is a starting job for the first few weeks of the season available and OTAs will be the first step towards finding out who the top candidates are.

Number Two: How Will the Draft Picks Look Early

Nearly every year at OTAs, one or more draft picks make a great early showing which often indicates they can make a bigger impact as rookies. The Packers hope they have a few rookies in this draft class who can help in their first season.

We will get our first look at the team’s top picks including second-round pick Cisse and third-round selection Chris McClellan who could play his way into the rotation this season

Few draft picks win jobs at OTAs but making that good first impression can be the first step towards securing a roster spot or taking on a more significant role on the team.

Five Things to Focus On at Packers OTAs for 2026, Number One: The Progress of Injured Players

The Packers also have key players working their way back from major injuries. While players like Tucker Kraft, Devonte Wyatt, Parsons, and Zach Tom will likely only work out on the side, seeing how they are progressing will be of critical importance to the Packers and their chances to compete in 2026.

Many eyes will be on these players, even though we will only be getting a preliminary glimpse of their progress as they return from injuries. These are among the most important players on the team.
