The Green Bay Packers 2024 season is over. Packers GM Brian Gutekunst added 11 players in the 2024 NFL Draft last April. We are now grading the Green Bay Packers 2024 draft class after their first NFL season. These grades are based solely on their performance in 2024 with the Packers. Grades are based on a combination of expectations and performance so a late draft pick with identical stats to a first round pick will receive a higher grade.
Grading the Packers 2024 Draft Class After Their Rookie Season: Round 7, CB Kalen King
Cornerback Kalen King was highly regarded by scouts entering the 2023 season and many thought he had first round potential. However, King struggled during his final year in college and fell all the way to the seventh round.
The former Penn State star showed some promise in the preseason but was also inconsistent. He spent the entire season on the Packers practice squad. The Packers elevated King for one game, but he didn’t play. They signed King to a futures contract so he will be back in training camp next summer to fight for a roster spot in year two.
Grade: Incomplete
Round 7: QB Michael Pratt
The Packers released quarterback Michael Pratt after the preseason was over. He outplayed Sean Clifford but still struggled to move the offense. The Bucs signed him to the practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster for two games but did not take a snap in either. He is the only Packers 2024 draft pick to be released and not signed to the Packers practice squad this season.
Grade: F
Grading the Packers 2024 Draft Class After Their Rookie Season: Round 6 OL Travis Glover
Travis Glover played in seven games in the second half of the season. He played 13 offensive snaps and 36 snaps on special teams. The Packers inserted Glover into the lineup in the playoff loss to Philadelphia when Elgton Jenkins left the game due to injury. He struggled mightily with penalties and was often overwhelmed by the Eagles defense.
The Packers saw improvement from Glover in the second half of the season after he failed to take a snap in the first half. They will need to see a second-year jump from Glover if he hopes to take on a bigger role in 2025.
Grade: C+
Round 5: DB Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo started training camp on the non-football injury list. The former Oregon State star returned to action during the preseason and made the team. He played nine games during the regular season and played 68 snaps on defense.
Oladapo made seven total tackles as a rookie. He will fight for a roster spot next year after getting his feet wet in the NFL this season.
Grade: C+
Grading the Packers 2024 Draft Class After Their Rookie Season: Round 5 OL Jacob Monk
Fifth-round pick Jacob Monk played 10 games this season with most of them coming in the first half. He did not take an offensive snap and saw action exclusively on special teams.
The Packers like Monk’s versatility and potential. If starting center Josh Myers leaves via free agency, Monk could compete for a starting position next season, but he will need to show significant improvement to earn a starting spot.
Grade: C
Round 4: S Evan Williams
Safety Evan Williams proved to be the steal of day three of the 2024 draft. The Oregon alum played 13 games this season and started six. When he was injured late in the season, his absence was clearly felt.
Williams plays the run well.
Opposing quarterbacks also completed just 56.7 percent of their passes when throwing to receivers covered by Williams. They also had a quarterback rating of just 77.8 according to pro-football-reference.com. Pro Football Focus ranked the rookie in the top quarter of safeties this season.
Williams made 49 total tackles, one interception, forced one fumble and broke up three passes. His strong play allowed the Packers to get their best lineup on the field on defense and created better opportunities for Jeff Hafley to blitz and create deceptive defenses.
Grade: A
Grading the Packers 2024 Draft Class After Their Rookie Season: Round Three LB Ty’Ron Hopper
Linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper appeared in all 17 games as a rookie but took only 18 snaps all season on defense. Hopper progressed gradually as learned the defense.
He made nine total tackles as a rookie. The former Missouri star has the athletic tools to be a starter or at least a quality member of the rotation. Look for a bigger role for Hopper in 2025.
Grade: C
Round 3: RB MarShawn Lloyd
The Packers brass loved the potential of running back MarShawn Lloyd but the former USC star saw his rookie season wiped out by injuries. It started in training camp and continued throughout the season.
Lloyd only played one game this season in Week 2 against Indianapolis. He carried six times for 15 yards while catching one pass for three yards. He spent the rest of the season on IR.
Lloyd will likely carve out a role on offense behind Josh Jacobs next season if he can stay healthy. His speed and cutback ability will give the Packers a change-of-pace back behind Jacobs in 2025.
Grade: Incomplete
Grading the Packers 2024 Draft Class After Their Rookie Season: Round 2 S Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard played 15 games for the Packers and started 11. The Georgia alum played safety but his best ball in the slot. Bullard was active this season, making 90 total tackles including two for loss. He also broke up one pass and recovered a fumble.
Opposing quarterbacks completed 85.2 percent of their passes throwing to receivers covered by Bullard and had a quarterback rating of 120.6 according to pro-football-reference.com. Those numbers need to improve next season.
The rookie still has a lot to learn, but he’s played the run well and should see a bigger role next season.
Grade: B-
Round 2: LB Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper has star potential. He proved himself to be an impact player as the season progressed and was twice named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. The former Texas A&M star made 87 total tackles, forced a fumble and recovered two. He recorded 3.5 sacks and made 13 tackles for loss.
Cooper plays the run well and can penetrate to make tackles in the backfield. His speed also allows him to rush the passer, and he had seven quarterback hits to go with the sacks. He also intercepted a pass and broke up four.
He accomplished all this in 14 games and while playing just 55 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
Cooper will start from day one in 2025 if he’s healthy. He has Pro Bowl potential and can be a star in this league if he keeps working and maximizes his talent.
Grade: A+
Grading the Packers 2024 Draft Class After Their Rookie Season: Round One, G Jordan Morgan
First round pick Jordan Morgan saw his rookie season curtailed by several injuries throughout the year. He played only six games and started one. In the other five games, he rotated series with starter Sean Rhyan at right guard. Overall, in six games, Morgan played 46 percent of the Packers offensive snaps.
Morgan has graded out as a better pass blocker than run blocker as a rookie. He changed positions from tackle to guard and moved from the left side in college to the right side in the pros. Injuries curtailed his chances to develop as a rookie.
The Packers remain high on his potential and hope he can earn a starting job in year two next season.
Grade: C+
