The Green Bay Packers signed 10 undrafted free agents after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft. The team has had success finding diamonds in the rough in recent years. In fact, the Packers had a lengthy streak of having at least one UDFA making the team despite the Packers consistent winning record over the last three decades. Here are the two most intriguing undrafted free agents signed by the Packers in 2025 and where they may fit on the team’s roster.
Two Most Intriguing Undrafted Free Agents Signed by the Packers, Number One: DT Nazir Stackhouse
GM Brian Gutekunst signed nose tackle Nazir Stackhouse shortly after the draft. Most scouts rated the Georgia alum as a fifth or sixth-round pick before the draft started, so signing him was an excellent value.
The 6’3”, 327-pound Stackhouse doesn’t figure to add much in the way of pass rush, but he did a good job of stopping the run. The key for the former Bulldog star is occupying blockers and clogging up the middle of the field.
In his last two seasons at Georgia, the big nose tackle had two sacks and four tackles for loss. He joins sixth round pick Warren Brinson, his teammate at defensive tackle with the Bulldogs last season. The two will compete for a roster spot along the front four.
Stackhouse will battle to replace the role filled by T.J. Slaton in recent seasons. Slaton played in base defenses and in obvious running situations. His job was to occupy blockers and to free up teammates to make tackles.
Number Two: DB Johnathan Baldwin
The Packers did something rare for an undrafted free agent with Johnathan Baldwin: they gave him $115,000 guaranteed to sign with the team. That breaks down to a $15,000 signing bonus and a guaranteed salary of $100,000.
The former UNLV star has one quality the Packers value in the secondary: versatility. In college, he played boundary corner, free safety, and slot corner. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley likes having players who can be utilized at multiple positions. That can help confuse quarterbacks and offensive coaches, if even momentarily off the snap of the ball.
The Packers officially listed him as a cornerback although prior to the draft, many scouts listed him at safety.
Baldwin possesses the opposite qualities of many Packers draft picks. He did not test well at the combine. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds and had a relative athletic score (RAS) of just 5.16 as a cornerback.
While his raw athleticism was lacking, Baldwin was very productive in college. Last season, he intercepted three passes, recorded 3.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. He also broke-up 13 passes for UNLV last season.
The Packers didn’t select a cornerback until the seventh round of this year’s draft and didn’t add a safety at all. That, combined with his guaranteed salary and signing bonus, should give Baldwin a decent chance to make the Packers final roster, or at least the practice squad.
Two Most Intriguing Undrafted Free Agents Signed by the Packers: The Outlook
Stackhouse and Baldwin both have a better chance to make the roster than a typical undrafted free agent. Both play positions of need for the Packers that they did not address until late in the draft.
Stackhouse comes from a school the Packers have favored in recent drafts. In addition to Stackhouse and Brinson, the Packers have Devonte Wyatt, Quay Walker, center Troy Hill, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, tight end John FitzPatrick, and defensive back Javon Bullard on their current 90-man roster. That’s eight former Georgia players.
Baldwin will likely need to play well on special teams in training camp and preseason to make the roster. He will battle with 2024 draft pick Kalen King and this year’s seventh-round pick Micah Robinson for the final cornerback spot on the roster. His versatility could help him in this battle.
Of the 10 undrafted free agents signed by the Packers, Stackhouse and Baldwin have the best chance to make the roster. Of course, they need to prove themselves this summer to achieve that goal.
