The Green Bay Packers 2025 draft is completed, and the team added eight players this season who hope to make the team and make an impact as soon as possible. GM Brian Gutekunst attempted to address many of the team’s pressing needs and improve a team that hopes to take a step forward next season.  Here is a look at the top five Packers 2025 draft picks with the best chance of contributing significantly as rookies. The list is a combination of team needs, and the NFL readiness of the players selected:

NFL rookies often struggle as they adjust to life in the NFL. The speed of the game and the overall level of play is much higher than college and the playbooks are thicker and the plays more complicated.

2025 Green Bay Packers Draft Choices with the Best Chance of Contributing as Rookies, Number Five: DE Collin Oliver

Collin Oliver figures to find his way into the Packers defensive end rotation as a rookie. The Packers know Kingsley Enagbare is entering the final year of his contract, so they need someone to step up and become the heir apparent in the rotation.

Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley wants more pass rush from the front four so Oliver may get an opportunity to provide it.

While Oliver will not likely start as a rookie, he could play some meaningful snaps with his playing time likely to increase as the season progresses and he grows more comfortable in the defensive scheme.

Number Four: OL Anthony Belton

Second round pick Anthony Belton will battle for a starting job along the offensive line. The Packers believe he can play anywhere but center which means he can fight for multiple spots, not just left tackle where he played in college.

Belton provides the Packers with size and physicality. The Packers still have last year’s top pick, Jordan Morgan in the hunt for the left tackle spot with incumbent Rasheed Walker. Zach Tom will start at right tackle.

Matt LaFleur has always said he wants to find the best five offensive linemen and have them start. That’s one reason the team values versatility among their offensive linemen. Belton has a chance to be one of the top five, but the question is how long it will take him to adjust to the NFL and possibly to a new position. He may also rotate in for several series as a rookie the way the Packers did with Morgan and Sean Rhyan.

2025 Green Bay Packers Draft Choices with the Best Chance of Contributing as Rookies, Number Three: DE Barryn Sorrell

Barryn Sorrell gave fans a great story on day three of the 2025 NFL Draft as he was in attendance in Green Bay. The University of Texas alum stands a good chance of becoming part of the rotation at edge rusher if he adjusts quickly to the NFL.

Sorrell gives the Packers defense a different body type on the edge. He stands 6’4” and weighs 260 pounds, which is lighter and smaller than the defensive ends Gutekunst typically drafts. He should also produce on special teams as a rookie.

Number Two: WR Savion Williams

While third-round pick Savion Williams won’t likely start as a rookie, his versatility and size give him a very good chance to contribute on offense.

LaFleur may use the former TCU star as a gadget player and design different packages to get him involved in the offense.

Williams can line us as a running back, in the slot or on the boundary as a wide receiver. Look for Williams to run end arounds, jet sweeps, screen passes, draw plays, and other similar plays for the Packers.

His role should increase as quarterback Jordan Love grows more comfortable with what he can do.

2025 Green Bay Packers Draft Choices with the Best Chance of Contributing as Rookies, Number One: WR Matthew Golden

The Packers entered the 2025 NFL Draft looking for a go-to receiver. They believe they may have found one in Matthew Golden.

Golden ran a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash and demonstrated good hands in college. The former Texas star should give the team a wideout who can both stretch the field vertically and consistently hold onto the ball on short and intermediate pass routes.

With Christian Watson set to miss at least the first half of the season, Golden should get the chance to contribute early and often as a rookie. He will battle with Dontayvion Wicks, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed to be the team’s top receiver.
