The Green Bay Packers will wrap up their preseason Friday night at Lambeau Field when they face the Arizona Cardinals. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur will be going head-to-head with his brother, Mike, who is the new head coach of the Cardinals. Here are 10 Packers players to watch in that game who are on the bubble and need a strong performance to have a chance to earn a roster spot or at least a berth on the practice squad.

Ten Packers Players to Watch Who Are On the Bubble, Number One: RB Pierre Strong

Running back Pierre Strong had a strong camp and really stood out against the Broncos last week. He had a 68-yard kick return and ran the ball well.

Strong has more experience than the players he’s competing with and actually has gained 499 yards rushing over three NFL seasons and has a 5.0-yard average per carry.

The Packers may try to sneak Strong on the practice squad if they don’t want to keep four running backs but the uncertainty concerning Josh Jacobs and MarShawn Lloyd’s injury history may make the team think twice before risking losing Strong.

Number Two: WR J. Michael Sturdivant

J.Michael Sturdivant has enjoyed a strong training camp. The undrafted free agent needs a strong preseason finale if he hopes to make the roster. He will also need the Packers to keep seven wide receivers on the initial roster which may not happen depending on needs elsewhere. Sturdivant has size and speed but needs to be more consistent.

Ten Packers Players to Watch Who Are On the Bubble, Number Three: WR Isaiah Neyor

Like Sturdivant, Isaiah Neyor has good size and has enjoyed a strong preseason and training camp. If they don’t keep him on the initial roster, they will try to get him on the practice squad. Neyor, Sturdivant, and Will Sheppard are all in similar situations entering the final preseason game.

Number Four: TE Drake Dabney

Injuries decimated the Packers tight end position and starter Tucker Kraft is returning from a torn ACL. Josh Whyle will be one backup, but a third tight end is needed. Drake Dabney currently has the inside track to be the third tight end, but he needs to show the coaches he’s the guy they want to fill this spot.

If he has a poor performance in this game, the Packers could easily look to add a player from outside the organization either via waivers or a trade. Dabney could end up on the practice squad if he fails to make the roster.

Ten Packers Players to Watch Who Are On the Bubble, Number Five: OL John Williams

John Williams missed his rookie season due to a back injury. The 2025 seventh-round pick out of Cincinnati can play multiple positions which the Packers always look for. He’s seen extensive action during the preseason, receiving more snaps than any offensive lineman on the roster through two games. He will likely see extensive action again against the Cardinals in his final chance to impress the coaching staff.

Williams has been a pleasant surprise in training camp and needs a strong finish to secure a roster spot.

Number Six: DL Anthony Campbell

Anthony Campbell has been a surprising standout in training camp. He’s made plays consistently by penetrating into the backfield and by knocking down passes.

Campbell may be up against a numbers game along the defensive line, but he’s doing all he can to make the coaching staff’s decision as difficult as possible. A strong finish to the preseason will help make his case.

Ten Packers Players to Watch Who Are On the Bubble, Number Seven: DL Jonathan Ford

Jonathan Ford has been in the thick of the battle for the nose tackle spot in the Packers defensive line. Even though the nose tackle may only play 30 percent of defensive snaps, he will play an important role in stopping the run and in short-yardage defenses.

Ford has enjoyed a solid training camp and needs a strong final game to solidify a roster spot. If he fails, he would be welcome on the practice squad.

Number Eight: Edge Arron Mosby

Arron Mosby seems to be counted out every year bua lays seems to find a way to stay with the Packers. Mosby adds experience and plays well on special teams. The question is how many edge rushers will the Packers keep?

Mosby will need a strong final game to make the 53-man roster but if he doesn’t, he will almost certainly return to the practice squad.

Ten Packers Players to Watch Who Are On the Bubble, Number Nine: CB Domani Jackson

Rookie sixth-round pick Domani Jackson missed valuable reps in training camp due to injury, and it may cost him a roster spot. Kamal Hadden’s strong play last week may also hurt his chances.

Jackson was always viewed as more of a developmental pick when he was drafted. If the Packers don’t have room for him on the 53-man roster, they will stash him on the practice squad.

Number Ten: S Mark Perry

Mark Perry made a big interception last week against the Broncos to back up his strong training camp and preseason. His rise has been a pleasant surprise in training camp.

Perry will need a strong game against the Cardinals to clinch the fifth safety spot on the depth chart. His ability to contribute on special teams adds to his value.
