For the last two seasons, the Green Bay Packers have had the youngest roster in the NFL. Despite the team’s lack of experience, they have made the playoffs in both 2023 and 2024, winning nine and 11 games. As of now, the Packers have 91 players on their roster but only two are 30 years old or older and two more will turn 30 before the end of the 2025 campaign. So, these are the only Packers players on the roster 30 years old or more.

The Only Players on the Packers Roster 30 or Over, Number One: K Brandon McManus

Kickers are more likely to continue playing football well into their 30s. As long as they can maintain their leg strength, they can continue to kick in the NFL.

Current Packers kicker Brandon McManus has been in the league for 11 seasons including last year in Green Bay. The former Temple star was extremely accurate after joining the Packers in Week 7 last season. He made all 30 of his extra point tries and only missed one field goal attempt in 21 regular season attempts.

McManus signed a new contract with the Packers this offseason. He should be the team’s kicker for the 2024 season. He will turn 34 years old on July 25th, right around when the Packers will be opening training camp.

Unless GM Brian Gutekunst adds another veteran to the roster, McManus is likely going to be the oldest player on the roster this season.

Number Two: LS Matt Orzech

The only other player currently on the Packers roster who is already 30 is long snapper Matt Orzech. The Azusa Pacific alum turned 30 on April 12th.

He began his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019. In 2021, he joined the Los Angeles Rams where he spent two seasons and won a Super Bowl.

Orzech signed with the Packers before the 2023 season and has held the job for the last two years. In five NFL seasons, Orzech has never missed a game.

While he did not make any major mistakes in 2024, the Packers are hoping Orzech can be a bit more consistent this year.

It is interesting that both players who are 30 and over on the roster play on special teams.

The Only Players on the Packers Roster 30 or Over, Number Three: DT Kenny Clark

Defensive tackle Kenny Clark is one of two players on the team’s current roster who will turn 30 before the 2025 season ends.

The former first-round pick out of UCLA is now 29 but will celebrate his 30th birthday on October 4th. That will be during the Packers bye week.

Clark has earned Pro Bowl honors three times in his nine-year NFL career. His best statistical season came in 2023 when he recorded a career-high 7.5 sacks and tied his single-season mark with nine tackles for loss.

Last season, Clark played through injuries and struggled to adjust to the team’s new 4-3 alignment under Jeff Hafley. His sack total fell to just one and he made just four tackles for loss.

It is still not clear if Clark will continue at three-technique or be moved back to the nose where he played most of his NFL career.

The Packers are hoping Clark will stay healthy and return to form in 2025. If he doesn’t improve his overall play, this could be his final season with the team. He became one of the few players to sign a third contract with the Packers prior to the 2024 campaign.

Number Four: OL Elgton Jenkins

Elgton Jenkins will turn 30 on December 26th. The former Mississippi State star has played all five positions along the Green Bay offensive line since joining the team in 2019. He has been selected to two Pro Bowls after the 2020 and 2022 seasons.

The Packers asked Jenkins to switch positions from left guard to center for the coming season. Unfortunately, while Jenkins indicated he was willing to move to the middle of the offensive line, he wants some assurances about his contract first. As a result, Jenkins has been a no-show at voluntary OTAs thus far.

Hopefully, the contract issue will be settled, and Jenkins can return to the team before training camp gets under way next month.

When the season starts in September, we’ll find out if the Packers will have the youngest roster in the NFL for the third year in a row.
