The Green Bay Packers 2024 NFL Draft class will be entering their third season in the league this year. That is usually the point where coaches, scouts, and fans get a good idea of where the players’ careers are headed and how they fit into the team’s plans. This will be a key season for the players GM Brian Gutekunst drafted in 2024. Many of them find themselves at a crossroads. Here is a look at what the coming season means for each of them:
Key Season for the Packers 2024 Draft Class, Round 1: OT Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan enters his third NFL season as the preferred starter at his preferred position of left tackle for the first time in his career. The former Arizona star has a chance to prove the Packers made the right choice when they selected him with the 25th overall pick in the 2024 draft.
The Packers cross trained Morgan at both guard and tackle since his arrival in Green Bay. He has also been switched from the right side to the left side and back.
In limited snaps at left tackle, Morgan has played well but he has yet to establish himself as a starter at the position. With the departure of Rasheed Walker in free agency, Morgan has his big chance at left tackle.
If he plays well, he can establish himself as the starter at the most highly valued position on the offensive line. If he struggles, he can become a career backup and role player.
Round 2: LB Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper looked like he was ready to be an impact player as a rookie, but his big-play production fell off in year two. In 2024, Cooper recorded 3.5 sacks and intercepted a pass. He also recorded seven quarterback hits and 13 tackles for loss. Although he played more snaps in 2025 and was better with his reads and fundamentals, the big players fell off. He managed just 0.5 sacks, three quarterback hits and four tackles for loss. The arrival of Micah Parsons changed the way Cooper was utilized.
This year, new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon will give Cooper more opportunities to make big plays. With the departure of Quay Walker and a 3-4 base defense being installed, Cooper should have more chances to make plays behind the line of scrimmage.
Will Cooper’s big-play potential be realized this season or will his rookie year be viewed as a fluke? How he performs this season will likely determine his career trajectory.
Key Season for the Packers 2024 Draft Class, Round 3: RB MarShawn Lloyd
For MarShawn Lloyd, the key is staying healthy. In his first two seasons, he played exactly one regular season game and carried six times for 15 yards while catching one pass.
Lloyd will be the leading candidate to back up Josh Jacobs if he can stay healthy. The Packers drafted him because of his speed and ability to break big runs which he demonstrated in college. He has said and done all the right things to stay healthy and return to the lineup but he is running out of chances.
Lloyd finds himself as a crossroads in his career. If he plays well, he could carve out a big role in the offense in 2026. If he falters or suffers another injury, his career in Green Bay could be over before it started.
Round 3: LB Ty’Ron Hopper
Ty’Ron Hopper appears to be locked into a spot as a depth linebacker and special teams player if he remains on the roster. The former Missouri star started two games last season but was on the field for only 11 percent of the Packers defensive snaps.
Barring injuries, Hopper should again be the backup at linebacker and a core special teams player. As of now, he appears to be the highest drafted player from 2024 in danger of not making the team on merit.
Key Season for the Packers 2024 Draft Class, Round 4: S Evan Williams
Safety Evan Williams established himself as a starter as a rookie and continues to give the Packers strong play at the position. In fact, Williams is approaching Pro Bowl-level play.
The former Oregon star should benefit from Gannon’s defense which has emphasized safety play in the past.
Williams plays well in coverage and makes plays close to the line of scrimmage. He and Xavier McKinney give the Packers an elite starting safety duo.
Round 5: OL Jacob Monk
Jacob Monk enters his third NFL season in a battle for the primary backup spot at all three interior offensive line positions.
The Duke alum only played seven games last season and made one start in Week 18 when the Packers were resting many starters. The addition of rookie Jager Burton will provide Monk with his biggest competition at both guard spots and at center.
Key Season for the Packers 2024 Draft Class, Round 5: DB Kitan Oladapo
Safety Kitan Oladapo will be fighting for a roster spot again in 2026. The Oregon State alum played 68 snaps on defense last season while appearing in all 17 games. He saw a bigger role on special teams.
If Oladapo plays well, he could benefit from Gannon’s emphasis on safeties. If he plays poorly, he could find himself out of a job.
Round 6: OL Travis Glover
Travis Glover appeared in seven games as a rookie in 2024, but injuries sidelined him for the entire 2025 season.
Now, the Georgia State alum will be fighting for a backup spot along the offensive line. As of OTAs, Glover is listed as a second or third string player who will need to have a good camp and a role on special teams to remain on the team in 2026.
Key Season for the Packers 2024 Draft Class, Round 7: QB Michal Pratt and CB Kalen King
Both of the seventh-round picks from 2024 are no longer on the Packers roster. Quarterback Michael Pratt never played a down for the team. Kalen King spent time on the practice squad in 2024. Last year, he played one game for the Carolina Panthers and is on the Cardinals roster as of now.
